It seems to be a trend at Dooney & Bourke for their celebrity spokespeople to design handbags as well as fronting advertising campaigns. Emma Roberts did it, Hayden Panettiere has her own Dooney & Bourke “dream handbag” designed in collaboration with Peter Dooney.

“I wanted to do something people haven’t seen from Dooney & Burke handbags before, so my handbag is red patent leather,” Hayden Panettiere has said.
The designing process began with Hayden describing to Dooney just what she envisioned: a large leather shoulder bag with puffy pleats, a buckle closure and great style. Sketches were drawn by the design team, then Dooney transformed her ideas into prototypes at Dooney & Bourke’s design studio in Florence, Italy. After a few changes from Hayden Panettiere, the limited edition Hayden handbag was born and now becomes a must have bag.
Hayden Handbags have black, brown, red and white color with with 18k gold accents each.

In 2008, the 18-year-old Heroes babe teamed up with Dooney & Bourke designers again to create a new bag for the Spring 2009 collection. The Hayden Clutch, named after the actress itself, is made from Italian calfskin and comes with a 24-carat gold plated lion head, inspired by the Heroes star’s zodiac sign, the Leo.
