Paris, Milano or København… where is the best place for top new fashion designers of Europe to conduct trend spotting?

Martyn Bal
from Paris
Designer Martyn Bal has impressive work experience. His past includes being an apprentice to Dirk Bikkembergs, assistant to Hedi Slimane at Dior Homme (Dior Handbags), designer for Versace (Versace Handbags), and director at Burberry Prorsum (Burberry Handbags). “From exquisite tailoring, perfectly constructed outerwear and an equally intuitive and studied approach to fashion, MARTYN BAL exudes a profound sense of energy intimately connected to music, contemporary art and gender theories. MARTYN BAL aims to challenge fashion conventions with an architectural vision, around shapes, fit and proportion, while effortlessly juxtaposing strength and fragility, forcefulness and elegance, with hedonism and romanticism.”
The latest Spring 2009 Collection from Martyn Bal is absolutely genius, the new line is a solid mix of tans, greys and deep reds that come together so perfectly.

Angelo Marani
from Milano
Exploring the ability to create a wide variety of outfits, Marani designs have endeavored to create laid-back pieces as well as much more formal works along their side. The sophistication of the pieces is really constructed by the material, which comes hand in hand with color choice.
Angelo Marani really knows how to cater to a wide range of interests. Refusing to stick to either a completely bright or subtle color palette, the label combines the two, producing works in simplistic whites and grays as well as more outrageous pinks. Angelo Marani not only designs the perfect pieces, its clear that they are also paired together in confident style. Meshing a bold yet simple pair of white shorts and shirt with a black sweater, the ability of the designer to create a golden match is shown. The collection is fit to wear in a variety of settings.
The Marani label has stolen the spotlight, leaving everyone in awe.

Best Behavior
from København
Danish design duo designers Marie Ørberg and Malene Brøchner started Best Behavior in 2003 and it's just one facet of their 18 year friendship. Both graduates of Hellerup Textile Academy, Ørberg and Brøchner want Best Behavior to consistently deliver unusual cuts, simple colours, clever details and ultimately clothes that are raw but still feminine.
Sold throughout 15 countries, the Copenhagen-based team at Best Behavior are also focused on the idea of casual fashion; stylish but comfortable, casual but not streetwear.
