No stranger to celebrity herself, Sang A's personal background is as beguiling as her designs. Korean-born Sang A's first profession was that of a performer in a large range of professional musicals before moving on to become a popular stage/television actress and singer. She went on to release three pop music albums on a major label and became one of Korea's most promising celebrities by the age of 26. Having held a long fascination with the costumes, colors and styling of her stage outfits, it was common for Sang A to style her own video clips and create looks in her personal wardrobe that resonated throughout her native country. While on a business trip to New York City in 1998, Sang A felt a stronger calling to the world of fashion and decided to move onto a larger stage, challenging herself to succeed in design in New York City.

After making her move, Sang A began honing her skills at Parsons School of Design and then went on to work with high profile stylists such as Victoria Bartlett and Lisa Von Weise to get a feel for the industry, eventually leading her toward accessories design.
